Since the start of the new year I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to accomplish over the next year. I’m not one to set resolutions because quite frankly I never manage to do them. I get to the end of the year and feel like a failure! So instead, I’ve written myself a bucket list of things I’d like to do this year.
It’s not a list of things I hate about myself, a list of things I want to change about myself, or a list of unrealistic expectations. It’s a list of goals and dreams I have for 2018; a journey of checking-things-off I suppose.
With my job and the fact I blog too, I guess you have to be pretty organised anyway. This is something though, that I will always feel like I can be better at. Our home is pretty organised, albeit a bit of a mess at the moment with redecorating and getting a new kitchen, but for the most part it’s organised. The one thing I do need to get better at is organising my work/life balance. Allowing enough time in my week to work, get my blogging done and also spend time with my other half.
Now we’ve already got two holidays planned this year, one of which is skiing (ahhh I’m too excited for this one!), and both are in new places foe me. But we’ve made ourselves a goal to visit at least three new locations this year. I think it will most likely be a last minute holiday, either that or an awesome city break. We did two city breaks last year and I loved both of them. Who knows where we will end up, but I know it will be amazing!
I’m not talking Biff and Chip…I’m talking real novels and books that I have to sit down and spend some time reading. I really got into reading again last year and have carried it on into this year too. There are so many I have that I’m due to read and I love the sound of them all. Ten does sound like a lot to me but when I get into a book, I really get sucked in! Has anyone got any they can recommend for this year?
To be totally honest I’m not unhealthy per say. I just haven’t been to the gym since, hmmm, maybe November last year? Which doesn’t sound like a long time, but for me, the way I feel at the moment, it’s definitely been too long! Since the move we’ve both struggled with having the get-up-and-go to get the the gym. Every night we get home from work we both have odd jobs to do and lots of painting so the gym has taken a bit of a back seat. I think now is the time to get back into it!
Yeah so most of the money I saved last year went on a big holiday and the house. This year there are so many things I want to do to the house that I really need to knuckle down and save. You’d be surprised how much paint costs and how things really do add up when you’re just putting them in your trolley at TK Maxx…I’m a sucker for a good spreadsheet so I’ve been working through planning all my money month by month for the year, hopefully this will help.
If you caught one of my last posts, how I plan to up my blogging game, you’ll know that this will be the year that I really push it. I’ve truly fallen back in love with it and everything about it. Being creative, being able to share your thoughts and opinions with others, and being part of such a great community. I’m telling you, some of the best people I’ve spoken to recently are bloggers! The drive and determination of bloggers may astound you.
This is something I’ve always wanted to get into, not just for my body, but for my mind too. I have a very overactive mind sometimes, I mean some of the dreams I have are……#nowords. Recently I’ve read more about yoga and everything it can offer you. I’ve been to one class in the past at the gym and to be honest I thoroughly enjoyed it! I think I surprised myself a lot. One thing I need to do is get up on a morning a bit earlier to allow myself some time. Maybe I should overhaul my morning routine too!
