So when I decided to begin overhauling my morning routine, I told myself that doing some form of exercise would be great, and it would help to get me ready for the day. I’m not going to lie, I doubted this thought to begin with.
That was until I discovered yoga.
Let me tell you I’m so glad I’ve found yoga, not for just the physical benefits, but also for the mental and emotional benefits too.
Now, honestly, yoga won’t be for everyone and it’s a slow process to get into it. To finally feel like you don’t look like a complete banana with your leg kicked in the air or your arms wrapped around your body. If I’d had started doing yoga in front of the mirror, let me tell you, I wouldn’t have gotten past day one!
After my training session last night, I wanted to write a blog about things that no one tells you when you start training at the gym. I saw a couple of young girls where I train last night, they must have only been at school and looked as though it was their first session. They had the same look that everyone has during their first couple of sessions at the gym. Not fear, but confusion and maybe a bit of worry about being judged by people. To those girls, don’t worry, we’ve all been there, and come through the other side. Keep going and if you want to train, train hard and don’t, under any circumstances worry about what people think. The likelihood is that they’re too busy in their own little world with their music blasting to worry about anything else. View Post
I thought I’d fill you all in about my current progress! Slowly but surely I’m becoming happier with my body. It’s taking time but all good things come to those who wait. The thing with my body, and I’m sure a lot of you out there have the same problem; it takes no time at all to put weight on, but forever to strip it off! Shout out to all of you who look at a piece of cake and put on ten stone!
My current motivation…my holiday in September. I find that thinking about this keeps me on track and stops me eating crap and being lazy during my gym sessions. That mixed with a completely sugar free August, will hopefully get me to where I want to be! View Post
I’ve been discussing my weight loss goals with a friend who is equally as into the gym and fitness as I am. Now one thing I have always hated doing is cardio. It is literally the biggest bugbear of my life. Alas, without cardio I cannot and will not lose the weight I want to. Cardio is such a crucial part of training.
So, with that in mind I’ve set myself a personal goal to run at least 3 times a week around where I live, do more HIIT training at the gym and also at home. Now I’m not going to lie, this week it has been a struggle. Getting up at 6am to get my butt out of bed and get dressed so I can do a decent run, get back, shower and get to work on time but, it will be worth it in the end! This week I have so far done two runs with one still to do tomorrow (yay Friday running…).
