The best bank holiday to date

So I don’t know about you all but I had one of the most awesome bank holiday’s ever. One which I will remember forever, for one reason more than any, two of my best friends got married! I couldn’t have been prouder than when I watched them tie the knot in a beautiful ceremony followed by a great party.

It was a simple wedding which suited them down to a tee. The ceremony was lovely and shared with their gorgeous little boys…which made it all the more special, especially when one of them handed them a jelly ring instead of the real ones haha 🙂 As far as friends go, you really can’t top these two, they’d do anything for you at the drop of a hat and I’m lucky to have them in my life. Congrats again guys, I’m so over the moon for you both!

Another exciting part of my bank holiday was heading to the StrEAT festival in Harrogate for the first time ever. This event was held last year too and clearly I missed a trick as it was awesome 🙂 if you’re a foodie like I am you’ll appreciate this part…

StrEAT PR run two festivals, Harrogate and Newby Hall. The Harrogate festival is free whereas the Newby Hall one you have to buy tickets. To be honest if I wasn’t on holiday I would get myself to the second one too. You can camp and glamp as well as enjoy all of the food and drink that’s on offer! You can even enjoy the largest outdoor cinema and book a hot tub whilst you’re there…what’s not to love! I’m desperately hoping they do it next year as I’m 100% going to try and get tickets.

The Harrogate event was fab though and there was tonnes on offer. Our group managed to find a great sunny spot in the gardens and we laid our picnic blankets down for the afternoon/early evening. After a couple of fab cocktails from one of the bar companies we set about choosing what food to eat…this was no easy task as there was THAT much to pick from! Everything from Greek and Mexican to Thai and American, the choice was so overwhelming! I think if I could have physically tried something from every van, I would have 🙂 After our “main course” we spotted a van called Chimney Chicks, this immediately caught my eye as they had something called the Unicorn Horn…it’s safe to say my Unicorn Horn didn’t last long…..

Please come again next year StrEAT Food Festival!!!
