Decorating the nursery

Hey guys! Long time no speak! Things have gotten a little crazy since Luca arrived (a whole 18 days early). Our lives got turned upside down in a heartbeat, but we wouldn’t change it for the world. Thankfully, because both James and I were born early, we decided to get everything ready well in advance, which meant getting the nursery ready and raring to go! With everything from furniture, décor as well as prints and educational posters from Poster Store, there was plenty to get on with.

It was a challenge to decide on the theme, especially as we didn’t find out the gender of the baby beforehand. In the end we chose a safari/animal theme in neutral colours. We loved decorating and finding bits and pieces that worked well.

When we were choosing furniture, for the most part we decided to go with preloved pieces. James’ mum is incredible at upcycling and she kindly painted and repaired his changing table and nursing chair. Big shout-out to her friend Jane for upholstering the chair and stool too! We think it looks incredible and works really well in the room. As far as his cot goes, James’ auntie kindly bought this from Mamas and Papas for us.

From there we added a number of pieces to help really bring the theme together!

I particularly love his new educational posters from Poster Store! The quality is insane and the frames are exactly what we were looking for. Do you know how challenging it is to find really nice frames that don’t cost the earth!? They’ve also been kind enough to give you guys a cheeky discount so you can find the perfect posters and artwork for your home. Whether you’re looking to spruce up your living space or add a gallery wall to your staircase, make sure you check out their collections.
