My top beauty buys for January

Growing up I never had a great appreciation for good quality makeup. I used bog standard, cheap makeup which quite frankly ruined my skin. I regretted it for a while, but as a teen, I was always desperate to save and buy my own things.

For the past couple of years I’ve slowly been building up my beauty collection and discovered what works for me and what doesn’t. Dare I say it, it’s almost helped me grow as a woman 🙂 In January, despite my efforts to be more money savvy I did spend quite a bit topping up my collection. Here’s a few of my fave bits…

Coach perfume and cream set

I’ve had the Coach perfume a few times and ran out over Christmas so needed to top up. I discovered that Coach do a perfume and cream set so thought I’d try this. I’m so glad I did! The perfume I love anyway, and if you’ve never tried it and want a scent that you can wear easily every day, this is definitely worth it. Not surprising that the cream is just as amazing. It’s so light and makes my skin feel incredible. 100% 5 stars from me!

Bobbi Brown foundation stick

My absolute favourite! I cannot recommend this highly enough. After trying for ages to find a foundation that works for me and lasts all day, I came across the Bobbi Brown foundation stick. It’s incredibly easy to apply and you don’t need to use a lot. This particular foundation is light and doesn’t look heavy on your skin, whilst also offering fantastic coverage. I find that you don’t need to use a powder to set it either, and it comes in over 30 shades, which means it’s super easy to find the right fit for your skin colour. Definitely a staple in my makeup collection!

Bobbi Brown nourishing lipstick

If you’re looking for a lipstick that lasts and holds it’s colour, this is the one. Bobbi Brown has got it so right with this lipstick. It combines natural oils with an incredibly lush comfortable texture. Not only does it last all day for me, it also makes my lips feel super soft. In over 20 colours there’s definitely something for everyone in this collection. A must have if you’re looking for a reliable lipstick to add to your collection.

Anastasia Beverley Hills dipbrow pomade

Being as obsessed with having perfect eyebrows as I am, I’m super glad my gorgeous brow girl recommended this to me! Not to plug her too much but if you’re in the Harrogate area, I cannot recommend Georgia Sands MUA enough for HD brows. She’s a frickin’ genius! Anyway, back to the point, this stuff is fab if you want to recreate the HD look yourself at home. It always gives me the best eyebrows, lasts all day and doesn’t rub off (unless you wash your face obviously!). My first dipbrow pomade lasted me well over a year and I have only just had to replace it! If you’re going to get this I’d also recommend using their 7B brush as this works so well at building small hair strokes in your brows.

The White Company lime & bay body cream

This has to be one of the most beautiful smelling creams I’ve ever used. I suffer from quite dry elbows and knees unfortunately and have tried tonnes of creams to battle this. This is the first cream I’ve used that seems to have made a difference. It’s so soft and refreshing. I’ve loved The White Company for a long time so I’m glad that I found this bad boy! Their lime & bay collection is gorgeous enough, but to add a cream to it is going to kill my bank balance haha!

I’ve been looking for a lipstick that actually holds for ages. I’ll have to nip into Bobbi Brown and see what they have on offer! How long does it generally last for? xx

They have so many! Also check them out online because sometimes they give you freebies if you purchase on the website 🙂 I find that it lasts me a good six hours during the day, then it’s just a top up if I head out after work xx
