My top buys of 2017 – Beauty & Home

2017 saw me buy my first home. This meant it was time to spend spend spend on tonnes of gorgeous bits and pieces! I’m a real home decor junkie. I love buying cute little bits to liven up a room. Even down to the kitchen! Now if you’ve ever moved in with your partner you’ll know it can be difficult sometimes if you have totally different tastes, however I’ve been very lucky. Both my other half and I have very similar styles when it comes to the home. We wanted ours to feel warm and welcoming whilst also still being quite stylish (I’ll let you be the judge of that!). I’ve also spent the year building up my makeup collection a bit more…well I say a bit more, my drawer is now overflowing and I’m going to need to invest in some proper makeup storage for once! Can anyone recommend any?

Enough Bobbi Brown to sink a ship

This year saw me either buy or be gifted more Bobbi Brown than I could have ever dreamed of! I’ve been wearing her makeup for about a year now and truthfully it’s the best makeup I’ve ever worn. Especially for my skin. I have a real mix of different skin types, I suppose as most people do. Dry cheeks and an oily t-zone. I use her foundation stick as my everyday choice and it’s never failed me. It’s so easy to apply and blends like an absolute dream. That mixed with the bronzing powder for a bit of colour and I don’t need much more. I’ve also never been one to wear much in the way of lip products, but this year I’ve taken the plunge and bought the Bobbi Brown lip liner in mauve as well as the pink lips set. Keep an eye out for it on some upcoming Instagram posts! One thing I absolutely must buy soon is the brightening finishing powder in bronze glow, it’ll look gorgeous in the summer.

Everything Sophie Allport

So I may have a slight obsession with Sophie Allport. If you haven’t visited her website or seen her on Instagram please do! Her ranges of homeware are to die for. Absolutely obsessed with the Highland Stag range. We’re racking up a bit of a collection at the moment with a couple of the china mugs, oven mitts, tea towels, place mats for our new dining table, a cushion…the list goes on! It’s so beautiful and the quality is phenomenal.

Pictures & photo frames

I love having pictures up in rooms and that’s why for me, getting some great quality ones for our walls was a must! We had a great trip to TKMaxx and came out with some really awesome buys. They have such a fab selection in all the time. I mean we’ve never struggled to date to find what we want. I adore the ones we’ve most recently bought which I plan on putting up in the office when I eventually get round to painting it. How exciting!
