5 Reasons Why Following Your Dreams Will Get You Everywhere

Everyone always says, “Follow your dreams!” But not everyone does it. I know for a while I certainly didn’t do it.

Life gets in the way, work piles up, and sometimes we have to do jobs we don’t want to do just to make it through the day. But…and it’s a big but; there are a number of reasons to follow your dreams, to break the trend, and to live the life you’ve always wanted.

Why follow your dreams you might ask? Here’s what following them does…

1. Simply put, they make your life worth living

Cheesy? A harsh reality? Unfortunately it’s true!

Your dreams are what can get you through even the worst days. If you are struggling, your dreams are your reason to keep going. They are why you wake up in the morning and try again. They are what makes your entire life worth living. Without our dreams, we are nothing.

2. You can be an inspiration to others

As I once said to a friend of mine “keep doing what you’re doing because you could be someone’s Krissy“.

If you decide to go and pursue your dreams, you will give hope to others who want to do the same. You can serve as their example and their reason why they should give it a try. You can help them, coach them, and encourage them to keep going.

3. You can provide for your family

Is your dream to start your own business? Maybe a Podcast or a YouTube channel? Whatever you dream is, if it creates an income, you can provide for your family.

Some dreams take longer than others to achieve, but that’s what makes the end goal so worth it.

4. It will make you proud

Have you ever had a goal in mind or a task you know you need to complete, and finally you get it done? Do you remember that overwhelming sense of pride? Well, by following your dreams you’re likely to get that feeling again and again.

Whether it’s a side hustle, starting a big project or doing something on your own for the first time, your confidence will rise, and you’ll enjoy the excitement and the adrenaline that comes with doing something you’ve always wanted to do.

5. You only live once right?

Again with the cheese. I know, I know. Over the past year I’ve been through two family deaths that have made me realise how short life really is. You’re brought into the world in a flash and can be taken out just as fast.

Do what you want to do today. Live out your dreams. Reap the rewards. Enjoy your life.

Dreams are often what keep us going. Don’t procrastinate. Get up, get on and do it. If you’re passionate about something, why not give it a go. Don’t be afraid of failing. We all fail at multiple things growing up.

Those first steps we took, almost always followed by falling on our bums and crying. Yet, we got back up. We learnt to walk, and we carried on. Don’t let the fear of failure stop you from chasing your dreams this year.
