You know me I’m a total skincare nut!
For me, looking after your skin is one of the most important things you can do. Ultimately you only get one “skin” and it’s not easily replaced.
My skin has never been perfect. I remember being a teen and young adult and thinking “my god will my skin ever be clear?”. My Mum would go on at me when I was younger about washing my face regularly and moisturising. For a while I didn’t listen.
But over the past couple of years, I’ve finally got myself a little nighttime and morning routine that I do every day, and my skin has continued to get better.
Yes I still have the occasional breakout, like most of us do, you can’t hide away from those damn hormones when you’re on your period after all!
One thing I’ve always struggled with is finding the right products for my skin. I have (I think) large pores and oily skin, so my the end of the day, my face is usually really shiny!
After spending this year hunting for some top notch products, here are my top ones at the moment…
SkinKissed Vitamin C Serum
I was sent this cute little bottle a couple of months ago, and like with any product I try, I wanted to try it for a long enough time to see if I saw any benefits.
The serums formula is based on ancient beauty ingredients are designed to nourish, enhance and leave your skin glowing. The ingredients of the Vitamin C Serum are: Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen and Rose Water. These ingredients have been used for centuries to achieve natural and healthy skin, and SkinKissed have brought all these unique ingredients into one small bottle.
They advise that if you’re using this with your skincare routine to use once a day as a treatment for oily skin and acne problems, by combining it with your other skin treatment routines. It’s truly given an umph to my routine and has definitely helped curb some oiliness!
Re-Gen Oil / Bio Oil
After running out of bio oil, I thought I’d try this Re-Gen Oil which I picked up in a discount shop in town. I frickin’ love these oil type products as I find they really make a difference to my skin.
As I mentioned in a previous post, I use this oil every day on my stretch marks. Since I fluctuated in weight when I was younger, it means that my skin has stretched, leaving some quite deep marks, especially on my chest.
I started using this stuff around a month ago and I’ve definitely noticed them reduce and become less visible, which has definitely helped my body confidence.
Baie Botanique Rose Renew Range
I absolutely love these two products and not only have I noticed a difference since using them, they also smell incredible.
The Regenerating Face Wash is a rose enriched cleansing and hydrating facial wash gel formulated to brighten and revitalise the skin leaving it softened and refreshed. I use it to gently remove the makeup, oil and debris on my face after a long day at work and at the gym.
After I’ve used it my skin looks and feels so incredibly soft and hydrated, which is just what you need after a tough sweaty gym session.
Once my face is clean and cleansed, I use the Regenerating Face Cream which is an enriched anti-oxidant treatment face cream designed to plump, hydrate and replenish the skin protecting against free radicals and combating the signs of premature ageing. With these two products you really don’t need to use anything else.
I absolutely love this range of products and will be so sad when they run out (which won’t be far off!). My skin has definitely looked more radiant and felt much more hydrated during the day and as soon as I wake up on a morning.
Rimmel Insta CC Primer in Green
Now I know this isn’t skincare as such and I know you’re panicking because it’s green haha. But honestly this product has changed my life!
The Rimmel Insta CC Primer is now part of my daily morning routine without fail. This fantastic product helps to colour correct my skin and reduces redness. It’s a super lightweight, green-toned primer, that also helps me reduce the look of my pours and makes my foundation look flawless all day!
I’ve always struggled with my foundations as by the middle of the afternoon I look super shiny and oily. But since I’ve started to use the Rimmel CC Primer, my foundation has stayed on all day and beyond.
So there you have it! My top skincare picks of the moment. I’m always on the hunt for new ones or different types to help my skin, and to combat oiliness, redness and spots.
If you have any you’d recommend or want me to try, let me know in the comments below!
