Having only really begun blogging seriously back in December last year, sometimes I still struggle to find my voice when writing.
I’ve been reading articles about how I should hone in on my niche and pick a specific topic to write about consistently. I was getting so frustrated because I’m not ready to pick just one topic; I want to write about all kinds of things! I’m passionate about fitness, homeware, beauty, baking and my cats and I want to write about them all.
Maybe as time goes on, I’ll niche down a bit, but for right now I’m self-classified as a lifestyle blogger and that’s okay. But, it got me thinking: What’s the point of lifestyle blogs when there are other blogs that specifically focus on food, or fashion or health? Why do so many pick on lifestyle bloggers? Why is being a lifestyle blogger given a negative connotation? Why do lifestyle blogs matter?
Here’s what I’ve decided…
Happy Tuesday my lovelies ❤ If you’ve been keeping up with my blog for a while now you’ll know I’m a total skincare junkie.
After spending years with acne and not really giving two sh*ts about sleeping in my makeup, and piling on more foundation on top of foundation from the day before, I finally realised just how important it is to look after your skin. After all, it can’t really be replaced like teeth or hair can!
For me, finding skincare that works for you is super important. Over the years I’ve tried many brands which haven’t worked for me or have made my skin worse. I won’t name names as those brands may work for you, everyone has different types of skin to contend with. I have an oily forehead and t-zone like most people but then my cheeks are quite spot prone. Unfortunately, I found out last year that bloody white wine makes me break out……gutted is an understatement! (Oh well there’s always red, rose, gin & tonic…..)
Hello my lovelies! Oh my days……spring is finally here! I’m beyond excited for some bleedin’ sunshine. It feels like it’s been forever since I felt the sun on my face, as was able to enjoy being outside.
I took a bit of a blogging and digital detox a couple of weeks ago, it was definitely needed. Sometimes just shutting off and spending time with my other half and my family is just what I need to give my mind a bit of a break. By stepping away from social media and my writing meant that my mind had the chance to think of other things…like where the honesty vs. oversharing line is when blogging.
Now, I pride myself on being honest when I blog. I try to not write loads of bullsh*t and give you guys the honest truth, there’s no point trying to write about a product I’ve used if it’s ruined my skin or that I genuinely don’t work! But where’s the line? When does honesty turn into oversharing? How can you walk the fine line whilst staying true to your own blogging voice?

Hello lovelies 🙂 I’m so excited to finally write about this incredible product from Smile Brilliant! It’s been a long process but one which has been so incredibly worth it and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
I’ve never really had very white teeth, I can always remember right back to when I was little always wanting sparkly white teeth. No matter how hard I tried and no matter which whitening toothpaste I used, nothing made a difference.
Hello lovelies! Sorry I’ve been a bit absent over the past week. Closing off at work for bank holiday was busy as was the weekend itself! Hope you all had a good one though and aren’t too hungover 😉
As James went away for a couple of days at the weekend I decided it would be the perfect time to bake.
I absolutely love baking and am always on the hunt for new recipes to try out…plus James loves tasting them for me, so it’s a win-win situation in our house.
I always head to Pinterest for inspiration
